The Avenir wins prize for best adaptive reuse
The Avenir, a residential building in Center City Philadelphia, won the prize for best adaptive reuse at the 18th annual Construction Excellence Awards of the General Building Contractors Association (GBCA). Floss Barber is front row, fourth from left.
The category recognizes a project that has taken an existing building and enhanced/or created an entirely new use for the space. For example, projects in this category include large-scale rehabilitations of historic buildings and smaller-scale installations of HVAC systems into historic buildings. We worked on the Avenir with HD Architecture, Alterra Property Group and Scully Company. We thank Clemens Construction for making our design a reality.
